October 9^th-  FAIRVIEW 1864 BASEBALL GAME. Starts at 1 pm. 908 Hillman Highway.

October 16^th- Evening with the Spirits of Sinking Spring Cemetery. 7 pm.

October 16^th- FREE OUTDOOR HALLOWEEN MOVIE NIGHT. Starts at 8 pm. Latture Field.

October 17^th- Charles Vess Booking Signing. Wolf Hills Coffee. 2-5 pm.

October 23^rd- Drop-In Trick or Treat at the Washington County Public Library. 10am-4pm.

October 23^rd- HAUNTED HILL at WKMA from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Drive-thru trick or treat event.

November 4th-7^th- MISTLETOE MARKET at SWVA Higher Education Center.

November 18^th-December 29^th- CHRISTMAS IS COMING TO BARTER THEATRE. A Christmas Story on the Gilliam Stage. Twelve Days of Christmas and Jingle All The Way at the Moonlite Drive-In.

December 1^st-January 3^rd- HOLIDAY LIGHTS DRIVING TOUR. All around Abingdon. Evening Hours appropriate to view lights.

December 2^nd - CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING. Lois Humphreys Park across from the Post Office.

December 3^rd-5^th- Holiday Market a The Martha Washington Hotel and Spa

December 4^th - ABINGDON CHRISTMAS PARADE. Starts at 6pm. 

October 2021 in Abingdon

 The Town of Abingdon will observe Halloween on Sunday, October 31, 2021. We want to remind everyone that the Town Ordinance pertaining to trick or treat visits (50-3) limits trick or treating to children 12 years of age and under on Halloween night. Also, all trick-or-treat visits need to be concluded before 10pm.

We hope everyone has a safe and Happy Halloween!

Sports Complex Update 9-23-21

Update on Sports Complex

We are happy to announce that the Sports Complex is making great progress and things are moving right along schedule with the fields. With this update, we want to inform everyone that the Recreation Department will start taking field reservations on November 1, 2021. For questions and information regarding the Sports Complex, call Kyle Pollard, Assistant Director of Recreation, at 276-623-5279.

Public Information Meeting on September 23, 2021

  

PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING

The Town of Abingdon, Virginia will hold a public information meeting concerning a proposed construction project that consists of stormwater management features and pedestrian walkway improvements along Boone Street from East Main Street to Walden Road. The meeting will take place on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 6:00 pm, Arthur Campbell Room, First Floor, 133 West Main Street. Staff will receive public comments about the project and discuss funding through VDOT Transportation Alternatives Funds.
