Virginia Highlands Community College Active Shooter Exercise
On Friday, March 25th, 2016, Virginia Highlands Community College will be conducting an active shooter exercise on the college campus (100 VHCC Drive, Abingdon) between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and noon. During the exercise, multiple law enforcement agencies and emergency response agencies will be participating causing some congestion along French Moore Jr. Boulevard. The area of VHCC Drive and Opportunity Lane will be closed during the exercise, but French Moore Jr. Boulevard will remain open. Please remember that this is only an exercise, but you may hear loud sirens and blank gunshots. Do not be alarmed! If you have any further questions, you can contact Chief Andis at 276-739-2582.

We ask drivers to be alert, slow their speeds, and not impede traffic in the area of the VHCC campus during the exercise. Thank you for your cooperation!
