On Monday, September 12th, 2016, the Town of Abingdon
Planning Commission will hold a special called meeting to discuss the 2040 Long
Range Transportation Plan. The meeting will be held in the Town Council
Chambers at the Municipal Building (133 West Main Street, Abingdon) at 5:30 PM.
The purpose of the meeting is to allow the regional transportation experts the
opportunity to present the plan which will evaluate future transportation needs
and proposed improvements within the MPO planning area. Mr. Rex
Montgomery from the Bristol Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and
Donny Necessary from Virginia Department of Transportation will be in
attendance to speak and take questions about the plan.
This will be a special called meeting of the Planning Commission, but
no action will be taken at the meeting.
