Procedures for April 20, 2020, Town Council Meeting

Due to social distancing guidelines as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, below are the procedures for the Town Council meeting on Monday, April 20, 2020.

·      A quorum of councilmembers is expected to be present for this meeting, which will take place in the council chambers at Town Hall.  Based on the opinion of the Attorney General, the Town must have a quorum of councilmembers physically present to conduct business.

·      The council meeting will be live-streamed via the Town of Abingdon YouTube page.

·      The council chambers will be closed to the public.  However, citizens who wish to attend the meeting and address the Town Council during the public comment portion of the meeting or a public hearing can do so at Town Hall.

·      Those who wish to address the Town Council must enter the building on the first floor.  Citizens who sign up to speak will be directed to the Arthur Campbell Room one at a time where their comments will be live-streamed directly into the council chambers.
